Be yourself. By all means. If being yourself means hurting people if that’s what lets you sleep at night then it’s not for me to say it should be any other way. Just know this: being hurt is not who I am. I’m sure you’ll find a willing vessel someone for whom being hurt by you feels familiar, maybe even like home. It’s just not me.
